“Pimp my room”

I’ve always loved those shows where they take something mundane (and even seemingly unsalvageable) and turn it into a masterpiece.  Well, I have to admit that sometimes I cringe at the makeovers but generally it’s all about rescuing a car/room/house/person from the abyss.

I’ve spoken before about my lack of styling finesse and my intentions on having the professionals style my own room, but thanks to Pinterest, I’ve had a go at the kids rooms all on my own.  Well, with the help of Mr Handyman of course!

When we started, they were two very ugly rooms with beige painted bricks on three of the walls.  We had them plastered and painted, then Mr Handyman built the window seat and shelving into Stinky’s room.

So here are the finished rooms:

Unfortunately the adorable Manifesto for Kids from Smile Collective fell off the wall.  We attempted to use a Command Damage Free Hanging Hook – well the wall isn’t damaged but the picture that fell onto Lucky during the night certainly is!

The two decals I bought from Wall Effect and they are BY FAR the best value for money I’ve found – and I’ve been ogling the “BOY n: noise with dirt on it” for a while.

The desk was a second-hand one from a local garage sale, and the racing car bed was free!

So overall, we’re rapt with the outcome, but more importantly so are the kids.

Now onto my room…although I think I’ll be calling in Bowerbird for that one!

  1. Love it Kim!! And I too have been ogling “boy n: noise with dirt on it”!!!

  2. Thanks Kelly 🙂 Now to repair the stupid frame so your gorgeous Manifesto can take pride of place!

I love to hear what you have to say!
